Free up the space your photo library is wasting — duplicates, screenshots, blurry shots, and huge videos, reviewed by you before anything moves.

Does Tidy delete photos automatically?

Never. Tidy only suggests. Everything you choose goes to the Cleanup basket first, where you can review it by category and rescue anything. Cleaning runs only when you tap the one red Clean Up button — and even then iOS asks you to confirm, and everything removed stays in Photos → Recently Deleted for 30 days.

What does the scan look for?

Five things: exact duplicates (grouped side by side, the best one picked for you), similar shots (burst series and near-identical takes, sharpest suggested), screenshots, blurry photos, and large videos sorted by size. The scan runs entirely on your device.

How do I review — do I have to go photo by photo?

Your choice. Cards mode shows one photo or group at a time — swipe right to keep, left to clean. All mode shows everything at once for bulk decisions. Accept a whole group with one tap, overrule any single photo, and if a bulk action was a mistake, use “Reset to suggestions” to start the group over.

How does video compression work?

Tidy re-encodes large videos with modern HEVC at the resolution you choose (4K, 1080p, 720p, or full resolution). You see an honest size estimate first — refined with Apple’s own estimator — and Tidy verifies the result: if compressing barely saves anything, your original is kept. The compressed copy lands in your library; the original is removed only as part of the cleanup you approve.

Why does Tidy need full Photos access?

To scan your library for duplicates, similar shots, screenshots, blurry photos, and large videos — and to remove or compress only the items you approve. The scan runs entirely on your device. Your library is never uploaded or shared.

Are my photos sent anywhere?

No. Tidy has no account and no servers. Everything happens on your device, and nothing leaves it through the app.

I deleted something by accident — can I get it back?

Yes, for 30 days. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted and restore it from there. Tidy also notices the change and refreshes its scan the next time you return.

What's free and what's paid?

Scanning and reviewing are always free — you can see exactly what Tidy would reclaim before spending anything. Running a cleanup requires either a single-cleanup credit (one-time purchase) or Unlimited, available as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time Lifetime unlock.

How do I restore a purchase on a new device?

Open the upgrade screen and tap Restore. Your purchase is tied to your Apple Account and restores at no extra charge.

How do I manage or cancel a subscription?

On your device, open Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions, select Tidy, and change or cancel there. Subscriptions are billed and managed by Apple.
