Effective July 16, 2026
Short version: Tidy does not collect, store, transmit, or share any personal data. Everything happens on your device. There is no account, no server, no analytics, and no tracking.
Tidy has no backend and makes no network connections to send your content or information anywhere. Your photos, videos, and their metadata are scanned, grouped, and cleaned entirely on your device and never leave it through Tidy.
Tidy requests access to your Photos library to scan it for duplicates, similar shots, screenshots, blurry photos, and large videos — and to remove or compress only the items you approve. The scan runs locally on your device. Tidy never uploads, copies, or transmits your library anywhere.
Tidy never deletes anything on its own. Items you approve are handed to iOS, which asks for your confirmation, and everything removed goes to Photos → Recently Deleted, where it stays recoverable for 30 days. Video compression writes a new file into your library and removes the original only as part of the same user-approved cleanup.
Tidy offers optional paid cleanups (subscriptions, a one-time “Lifetime” unlock, and a single-cleanup credit) through Apple’s App Store. Purchases are processed by Apple under Apple’s Privacy Policy. Tidy receives only the App Store entitlement needed to unlock features and never sees your payment details.
To function, Tidy stores small amounts of data on your device — your settings, the scan index it builds so repeat scans are fast, and your review progress. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete the app.
Tidy contains no analytics tools, no advertising, and no third-party tracking. It does not use the Advertising Identifier and does not track you across other apps or websites.
Because Tidy collects no data and has no server, there is nothing to sell or share with third parties.
Tidy does not collect data from anyone, including children. The app has no social features, no chat, and no external content.
If this policy ever changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. Since Tidy collects nothing, changes are expected to be rare and editorial.
